Quebec Skilled Workers Class
Under the Canada-Quebec Accord on Immigration, Quebec establishes its own immigration requirements and selects immigrants who wish to settle on its territory.
To be selected as an immigrant worker, the applicant must have the schooling and occupational skills to facilitate his/her job integration. Other factors, such as language, age, the spouse’s profile and whether or not he/she has children, are also important. Points will be awarded, if applicable, for each of the selection factors. The assessment of the application will help to determine if the applicant obtain a sufficient number of points to be selected by Quebec.
The selection doesn’t guarantee the admission. The Government of Canada admits to Quebec solely those workers that Quebec has selected. To be admitted, the applicant must successfully apply for permanent residence (this also applies to family members), and successfully pass a medical examination and the required security checks.
